The World’s First Dragon Ball Theme Park Coming to Saudi Arabia

In a groundbreaking move, Saudi Arabia has announced plans to construct the world’s first Dragon Ball theme park following the passing of its creator, Akira Toriyama. The expansive entertainment venue will be part of the Qiddiya tourism project and will cover a staggering 5.3 million square feet.

Exciting Features

The theme park will consist of seven distinct areas that draw inspiration from the beloved Japanese anime series. It is set to offer visitors over 30 themed rides, hotels, and dining options, promising an immersive experience for fans of Dragon Ball. Among the attractions, fans can look forward to five rides, including the Shenron roller coaster, paying homage to the mystical dragon in the series. Additionally, there will be themed areas dedicated to Kame House, Capsule Corporation, and Beerus’s Planet.

The creation of the Dragon Ball theme park aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 initiative, spearheaded by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. This ambitious initiative aims to diversify the country’s economy and boost tourism by introducing innovative and engaging attractions like the Qiddiya Dragon Ball park. With the backing of the kingdom’s Public Investment Fund, the park is slated to become a premier destination with over 400 attractions to cater to a wide audience.

Despite the excitement surrounding the announcement of the Dragon Ball theme park, it has not been without its share of criticism. Some fans have expressed concerns over Saudi Arabia’s human rights record, treatment of women, and the lack of recognition of LGBTQ+ rights. These criticisms have been further fueled by the alleged involvement of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in the death of journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

The unveiling of the world’s first Dragon Ball theme park in Saudi Arabia marks a significant milestone for fans of the iconic anime series. While the announcement has sparked excitement among enthusiasts, it has also sparked debates and criticisms over the ethical considerations associated with the kingdom. As the project progresses, it remains to be seen how the theme park will navigate these challenges while providing an unforgettable experience for visitors.
