Recent revelations from GTA 5 actor Steven Ogg have shed light on a cancelled DLC for the game, known as “Agent Trevor.” This DLC would have seen protagonist Trevor going undercover with the FBI, adding a new dimension to the game’s story. Unfortunately, this expansion, along with two others, was cancelled by 2017, leaving players wondering about what could have been.
According to Ogg, who voiced Trevor in the game, he had recorded lines for the Agent Trevor DLC and was given a partial briefing on the storyline. Trevor was supposed to be working for the feds in a covert operation, showcasing a different side to his character. However, despite shooting some scenes for the DLC, it ultimately disappeared, and Rockstar never followed through on its development.
The decision to cancel the DLC packs was made public in 2017, but it is likely that the projects were halted much earlier. It remains unclear how far along Agent Trevor was in development before being scrapped, and whether any elements of the DLC were repurposed for GTA Online. Some concepts from Agent Trevor seem to have been incorporated into the Doomsday and Diamond Casino heists in GTA Online, hinting at a potential connection between the two.
With the cancellation of the Agent Trevor DLC, it seems unlikely that we will ever see this content or any remnants of it in the game. The focus has shifted to new updates and expansions for GTA Online, leaving behind the lost potential of Trevor’s undercover adventures. As players continue to explore the vast open world of GTA 5, they can only imagine what could have been if the Agent Trevor DLC had seen the light of day.
