The Launch of Lego Islands in Fortnite

Lego and Epic have introduced a new feature in Fortnite called Lego Islands, allowing players to create their own game experiences using Lego assets within the game. This announcement was made during the State of Unreal presentation at GDC, unveiling the opportunity for players to design and share their own Lego Islands.

While players have the freedom to be creative with their Lego Islands, there are certain restrictions in place to maintain the kid-friendly nature of Lego. Any islands created using Lego assets must have age ratings of no higher than E10 from the ESRB or 7 from PEGI. This means that violent or inappropriate content involving Lego assets is not permitted in the game.

To assist players in creating their own Lego Islands, Lego and Epic have released three new Lego Islands that were made with UEFN. These include Lego Prop Hunt, Lego Battle Arena, and Lego Cat Island Adventure. Additionally, four island templates have been provided to help creators kickstart their designs and avoid starting from scratch.

One exciting aspect of the Lego Islands feature is the opportunity for creators to earn money through the Fortnite Island Creator Program. If a player’s Lego Island generates significant engagement and popularity within the Fortnite community, they may be eligible to receive payment for their creation.

The introduction of Lego Islands in Fortnite opens up a new realm of creativity and collaboration for players. By leveraging Lego assets and the innovative tools provided by Epic, players can design unique and engaging game experiences for others to enjoy. With the potential for creators to earn money through their creations, the Lego Islands feature in Fortnite has the potential to revolutionize the way players interact and engage with the game.
