Pokémon Sleep, the innovative sleep-tracking app that allows users to catch Pokémon while catching some Zs, has made waves by generating over $100 million in revenue within its first year of launch. The data, sourced from AppMagic and recently shared by PocketGamer.Biz, reveals an impressive financial milestone for the app.
The majority of the revenue, totaling $100 million, has predominantly come from users in Japan, who have contributed an estimated $73 million since the app’s debut on July 17th of last year. Additionally, users in the United States have contributed $17 million, while users in Taiwan have added $4 million to the total revenue.
Unsurprisingly, in-app spending has seen spikes during special events within Pokémon Sleep, such as the Raiku Research event and seasonal celebrations. A Holiday 2023 event emerged as the highest-earning week for the app, netting an impressive $4 million over the course of seven days.
Pokémon Sleep has witnessed a noteworthy 9.8 million downloads in the past year, with 44% of the downloads originating from Japan. North America followed closely behind with 17% of the downloads, while Taiwan captured 7% of the total downloads. While these figures may seem modest when juxtaposed with Pokémon GO’s staggering $1 billion annual revenue, the $100 million amassed by Pokémon Sleep signifies a significant achievement for a sleep-tracking application.
As Pokémon Sleep gears up to celebrate its first anniversary, a ‘gift week’ is currently underway, allowing users to earn bonus Sleep Points by logging in daily. Further details about the anniversary event are expected to be unveiled on the @PokemonSleep Twitter account later today.
Pokémon Sleep’s remarkable success in accruing over $100 million in revenue during its inaugural year underscores the growing popularity and potential of mobile applications focused on health and well-being. With a dedicated user base and innovative features, Pokémon Sleep is poised to continue captivating audiences and expanding its impact in the realm of sleep-tracking apps.
