Recently, Lykke Studios announced during the Nintendo Indie World showcase that they have made Stitch available on the Nintendo Switch. This casual puzzle game was initially exclusive to Apple Arcade, but now Switch users can enjoy it for $15 on the Nintendo eShop. Stitch is centered around a unique embroidery mechanic, where players are tasked with filling in gaps and areas within levels to successfully complete Hoops. The gameplay involves stitching together landscapes, plants, animals, and objects, creating a visually appealing and engaging experience for players.
Gameplay Features and Challenges
In Stitch, players are not only presented with regular puzzles but also daily and weekly challenges to keep the gameplay fresh and exciting. The daily challenges involve shikaku puzzles, which require players to divide a grid into rectangular and square pieces, ensuring that each piece contains only one number representing the area of the rectangle. This adds a level of strategic thinking and problem-solving to the game. On the other hand, the weekly Hoops offer limited edition content that players can solve within a seven-day period before it disappears. These challenges often reflect famous international events, adding a thematic element to the gameplay.
Expansion of Apple Arcade Games
Stitch is not the only game that has transitioned from Apple Arcade to other gaming platforms. For instance, TMNT: Splintered Fate, a roguelike game based on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise, is set to release on the Nintendo Switch in July. Additionally, Fantasian, a game developed by the renowned Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi and originally exclusive to Apple Arcade, had a listing on SteamDB last year. This listing hints at the possibility of more Apple Arcade games making their way to other platforms in the future, expanding the reach and accessibility of these unique gaming experiences.
The introduction of Stitch on the Nintendo Switch marks a significant step in the expansion of Apple Arcade games beyond their original ecosystem. With its embroidery-based gameplay and diverse challenges, Stitch offers players a fresh and engaging puzzle-solving experience. As more developers explore bringing their Apple Arcade titles to other platforms, players can look forward to experiencing a wider range of innovative and captivating games in the future.
