Recently, Twitter user pl_evil provided a valuable translation of a letter to shareholders from Bloober Team, revealing that their upcoming game “Project C” will be announced later this year. This game will mark the studio’s next venture into original gaming content, following their completion of Layers Of Fear last year.
Exciting Collaborations
Currently, Bloober Team is engaging in a significant amount of intellectual property (IP) work for other entities. They are working on a Silent Hill 2 remake set to be released later this year, as well as a project codenamed “Project R” in collaboration with Skybound Entertainment. Considering Skybound’s association with The Walking Dead, it is unsurprising to speculate that Project R may have a zombie-related theme.
Hopes for Project C
Many fans, including myself, are eagerly anticipating the unveiling of Project C. I personally hope that it will be a fresh standalone concept, rather than a forced sequel to their previous titles like Observer or The Medium. Bloober Team rose to prominence after the P.T. cancellation in 2014, and their reputation as a reputable horror developer solidified with the release of Layers Of Fear in 2016.
Bloober Team is known for creating games with innovative and immersive gameplay dynamics. Titles like Observer, where players could explore the memories of deceased individuals, and The Medium, which allowed players to interact with both the living and spirit world simultaneously, showcase the studio’s penchant for unique storytelling. It will be interesting to see how they continue to push the boundaries with their upcoming projects.
While some may not have been impressed by Bloober Team’s 2019 release, Blair Witch, the studio has expressed their commitment to faithfully remaking Silent Hill 2. This dedication to respecting the original title sets high expectations for their future projects. If they manage to surprise audiences with a groundbreaking reveal for Project C this year, it could potentially shift the spotlight onto their upcoming releases.
Bloober Team’s track record of delivering compelling and distinctive gaming experiences has garnered them a dedicated fan base. As we eagerly await the announcement of Project C and the eventual release of their Silent Hill 2 remake, it is evident that the studio is poised to continue captivating audiences with their creative vision and storytelling prowess.
