The Redesigned Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 3: A Game Changer in Wireless Gaming Headsets

Turtle Beach has unveiled its latest innovation in the gaming headset market with the redesigned Stealth 700 Gen 3 headset. What sets this headset apart is its unique approach to connectivity, offering two USB transmitters that allow for seamless switching between consoles and PC/Steam Deck at the push of a button. This new feature, set to launch on September 22nd, is already available for preorder at a price point of $199.99.

Differences Compared to Competitors

Unlike other headsets that have attempted one-button switching, such as Logitech’s Astro A50 X, Turtle Beach’s Stealth 700 takes a different route. While the Astro A50 X requires all audio and video to pass through its charging dock’s HDMI passthrough, the Stealth 700 offers a more straightforward approach. It may sound less advanced, but it is also much less finicky. The headset boasts 60mm drivers, which are 10mm larger than the previous generation, along with Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity, spatial audio, a noise-canceling microphone with AI technology, and an impressive battery life of up to 80 hours.

The dedicated PC model of the Stealth 700 offers even higher audio quality, with 24-bit/96kHz audio and a 16-bit/32kHz microphone. This is a significant upgrade compared to the limitations imposed by current consoles, which are capped at 16-bit/48kHz for audio and 16-bit/16kHz for microphones. The headset’s versatility extends to its compatibility with different gaming platforms, with the Xbox version being cross-compatible with PlayStation and PC. However, the PlayStation and PC models do not work with Xbox, although the PlayStation model is compatible with PC and the PC model works with both PS5 and PS4.

The Stealth 700 offers a simple yet effective solution for gamers who frequently switch between different platforms. By eliminating the need to constantly move USB receivers or re-pair Bluetooth connections, this headset provides a level of flexibility that is unmatched by its competitors. Unlike the Astro A50 X, which requires the headset to be the central hub for all systems, the Stealth 700 allows gamers to seamlessly transition between consoles and PC setups in different rooms.

Overall, Turtle Beach’s redesigned Stealth 700 Gen 3 wireless gaming headset represents a significant advancement in gaming headset technology. With its innovative approach to connectivity, enhanced features for PC users, and seamless compatibility with multiple gaming platforms, this headset is poised to redefine the gaming experience for multiplatform gamers.
