Nacon has decided to push back the release of Terminator: Survivors to 2025. The original launch date was set for October 24, but the developer announced on Twitter that more time is needed to develop the game. While no specific reason was given for the delay, Nacon wants to ensure that Terminator: Survivors meets the expectations of fans and fulfills the studio’s vision for the project.
The announcement of the delay was met with mixed reactions from the gaming community. While some fans expressed disappointment at the news, others appreciated Nacon’s commitment to delivering a polished and high-quality game. The studio acknowledged the disappointment, but emphasized that the delay is necessary to do justice to the Terminator universe and its dedicated fanbase.
Terminator: Survivors is an open-world survival game set in 2009, shortly after Judgment Day. The game will focus on the events of the first two Terminator movies, while also introducing new characters and storylines. Players can expect to encounter familiar faces from the series, as well as new threats such as the Terminator and other hostile entities. The gameplay will include elements of base-building and solo play, with an option for up to four-player co-op.
Console Release
The delay of the Steam Early Access version of Terminator: Survivors has also impacted the release of the game on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Originally scheduled for 2025, the console launch will now depend on the duration of the Early Access period. As the Steam version could launch at any point between January and December of next year, the timeline for the console release remains uncertain.
Despite the disappointment of the delay, Nacon’s decision to postpone the release of Terminator: Survivors until 2025 underscores the studio’s commitment to delivering a polished and content-rich gaming experience. Fans can look forward to exploring the post-apocalyptic world of Terminator: Survivors and engaging in thrilling survival gameplay when the game finally launches in 2025.
