The Arrival of Homelander in Mortal Kombat 1: What to Expect

The addition of guest characters in Mortal Kombat 1 has been a major talking point among fans, with the likes of Omni-Man and Peacemaker causing excitement. However, there is still one more teased guest character who is yet to make his debut – Homelander from The Boys. The recent MK1 Pro Kompetition provided a quick look at the final guest, and the teaser has left fans both excited and slightly queasy, much like the source material itself.

The Homelander teaser video is a mere 45 seconds long, but it is packed with glimpses of what to expect from the character. The teaser begins with a rather unique intro scene where the supervillain takes a break to quench his thirst, setting the tone for his menacing presence. It goes on to showcase both of Homelander’s Fatalities, one utilizing his heat vision and the other involving a commercial plane flying overhead in a creative manner. The teaser leaves a lot to the imagination, building anticipation for Homelander’s arrival in the game.

One of the major questions surrounding Homelander’s debut in Mortal Kombat 1 is the identity of the voice actor behind the character. While the in-game version of Homelander bears a striking resemblance to actor Antony Starr, Starr himself denied his involvement in the project on Instagram. Although we do get a brief glimpse of Homelander speaking in the teaser, the voice remains unidentified, leaving fans guessing about who might be providing the vocals for the character.

Homelander will be the final guest character to be added as part of Mortal Kombat 1’s first Kombat Pass, making him the fifth out of six characters included in the expansion. He follows in the footsteps of other unique additions such as Omni-Man, Quan Chi, Peacemaker, and Ermac. The pass’s content will be rounded off later this year with the introduction of Takeda. Mortal Kombat 1 is currently available on various platforms including Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The Kombat Pass, which includes Homelander and other characters, is also available for purchase standalone or as part of premium editions of the game.

Homelander’s impending arrival in Mortal Kombat 1 is generating significant buzz among fans, thanks to the intriguing teaser and the character’s unique portrayal. With his distinct abilities and mysterious voice actor, Homelander is set to make a memorable impact on the game’s roster, adding a new layer of excitement for players to explore.
