Nintendo has recently made some exciting additions to their Switch Online + Expansion Pack service. This week, they surprised fans with two N64 titles that are sure to bring back waves of nostalgia for many gamers. The first title is the 1997 futuristic racer Extreme-G, followed by the 1998 racing game Iggy’s Reckin’ Balls. Both of these games were originally published by Acclaim Entertainment and have now made their way to the Switch Online platform.
Extreme-G takes you on a fast-paced journey through 12 futuristic racetracks, where you’ll navigate looping and twisting circuits on your battle bike. Loaded with weapons, your rivals will stop at nothing to take you down. With powerups scattered throughout the tracks, it’s a race to the finish line to see who can come out on top. Whether you prefer playing solo or with friends, Extreme-G offers both local split-screen multiplayer and online support for up to four players.
On the other hand, Iggy’s Reckin’ Balls puts a unique spin on racing games by letting you control a spherical character. Join Iggy and his reckless crew as you smash and swing your way through vertical races on towering tracks. With the ability to take shortcuts, zip through loops, and avoid enemies, the competition can get intense for up to four players.
In Japan, Nintendo has also introduced Blast Dozer, which is a title developed by Rare known as Blast Corps in other regions. This action-packed game is already available in the local N64 library on the Switch Online platform. Blast Dozer provides players with a thrilling experience as they demolish buildings and clear a path for a runaway nuclear missile carrier.
These new additions to the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack service have brought back beloved classics and introduced some lesser-known gems to a new generation of gamers. With both single-player and multiplayer options available, fans of racing and action games are sure to find hours of enjoyment with these titles. So, buckle up and get ready to experience the thrill of these timeless N64 games in a whole new way on the Switch!
