Disney Speedstorm Progression System Getting Major Overhaul

Disney Speedstorm, a popular kart-racing game developed by Gameloft, has been widely praised for its great kart-racing mechanics but criticized for its aggressive and confusing progression system. While the game has managed to attract a dedicated audience and release regular seasonal content featuring new iconic Disney characters, the overcomplicated upgrade system has been a major pain point for many players. However, all this is about to change with the upcoming Season 7 update.

One of the biggest changes coming in Season 7 is the introduction of a new, single upgrade currency called Upgrade Coins. This new currency will replace the current system of multiple upgrade materials, making it much simpler for players to track and manage their upgrades. All the upgrade materials that players have accumulated so far will be converted to the new Upgrade Coins, streamlining the upgrading process for all racers.

Under the new system, players will no longer have to worry about collecting specific upgrade materials for each franchise or character. Instead, they will use Upgrade Coins to upgrade their favorite racers, making the progression system much clearer and easier to understand. This change will prevent players from receiving upgrade materials they don’t need or want, eliminating the confusion and frustration that many have experienced in the past.

While the new upgrade system will make it easier to upgrade racers, players will still need to collect racer shards to unlock new racers and raise their Star Level. The Star Level determines the level cap and some perks for each racer. This mechanic adds a layer of strategy to the game, giving players a sense of progression and accomplishment as they unlock and upgrade their favorite Disney characters.

While the Season 7 update is a step in the right direction, there are still some issues with the game that need to be addressed. The randomness of unlocking new racers, for example, can be frustrating for players, especially when specific racers are required to claim all the rewards in a season pass. Going forward, Gameloft will need to find a balance between randomness and player choice to keep the game engaging and fair for all players.

The upcoming Season 7 update for Disney Speedstorm promises to revolutionize the game’s progression system and make it more accessible to players of all skill levels. The introduction of Upgrade Coins and the simplification of the upgrade process will eliminate the confusion and frustration that many players have experienced in the past. With these changes, Disney Speedstorm is well-positioned to continue attracting and retaining a loyal fanbase for years to come.
