The Finals Season 2: A Closer Look at the Upcoming Changes

The highly anticipated second season of The Finals is set to launch later this week, promising an array of exciting new features for players to enjoy. With a hacker-themed concept, Season 2 will introduce a new playstyle involving world-altering gadgets, a fresh five-on-five game mode, an additional map, beta support for private matches, and much more.

The headline addition to The Finals Season 2 is the introduction of the Hacker playstyle, which offers a unique set of gadgets for players in the Light, Medium, and Heavy classes. Each class will have access to gadgets focused on “hacking” the world within the game to achieve various outlandish effects.

Light characters will utilize the Gateway gadget, allowing them to deploy grenade-like portals that resemble Sombra’s teleporters in Overwatch 2. Medium characters will have access to gadgets like the Dematerializer, which offers a quick way to create openings in structures, and the Data Reshaper, which can transform objects into something else. Heavys will be equipped with the Anti-Gravity Cube, enabling them to manipulate gravity for both people and objects.

In addition to the new gadgets, players will also have access to new weapons, including a burst-fire machine pistol for Lights, a burst assault rifle for Mediums, and a slug shotgun for Heavys. These weapons will add more variety to the gameplay experience.

The new season will introduce a fresh map called SYS$HORIZON, featuring a neon city environment where players can test out the new gadgets and weapons. Furthermore, a new five-on-five casual mode called Power Shift will be introduced, where teams must escort a giant floating platform that can demolish buildings in its path.

For competitive players, Season 2 will bring significant changes to the game’s League System, promising a better overall experience. Developers Embark have promised new league rewards and a Career Circuit that offers weekly rewards and the opportunity to rank up from Rookie to Master by completing contracts.

Players who prefer to play with friends will also benefit from the addition of private matches, which will be available in a “feature-limited” beta test during the new season. This feature will allow players to create custom matches with their friends and test their skills in a controlled environment.

With the upcoming launch of The Finals Season 2, players can look forward to a host of new content and features that will enhance their gaming experience. From the introduction of the Hacker playstyle and world-altering gadgets to the addition of new weapons, maps, and game modes, Season 2 promises to be an exciting and engaging update for fans of the multiplayer team shooter. Get ready to dive into the action on March 14th and experience the thrill of The Finals Season 2.
